One of my favourite books to read to young children is Eric Carle's 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'. There are numerous learning opportunities within this book but the one I have here focuses on healthy eating. I painted a huge caterpillar's face on cardboard and got some play food out. The children had to sort through the foods and then 'feed' the caterpillar healthy foods.
