One morning, one of the Kinder children came in holding a snail that he found on the way. This gave me a fantastic idea to incorporate art and real life experiences together. All the children observed the snail closely. I then showed them a picture of a collage titled "the snail" by artist Henri Matisse. They loved the colours and talked about how Matisse's snail was different and similar to a real snail. They then collaged a snail of their own.
