The Rainbow Fish
A large part of my teaching in Kindergarten focuses on social-emotional skills that prepare children for life at school. A great way to do this is always through stories and Rainbow Fish is one of my personal favourities! The story is very appealing and easy for young children to grasp and relate to.
Prep work: draw a large fish and paint it blue. Then display it on a wall.
After reading the story to them, I gave each of the children a triangular piece of card (a paper plate cut up into 8 pieces). The children then painted these using any colours they wanted to. We also sprinkled some glitter over the top for that extra sparkle!
